From the efforts beginning in the 1950s to the doors opening in 1964, the London Muslim Mosque has been serving a growing and flourishing community. The London Muslim Mosque is hailed as the first mosque in Ontario and the second mosque in Canada. Established in 1964, the London Muslim Mosque serves the growing multicultural Muslim community in London, Ontario Canada. The Mosque and its administrators have come a long way from the days when five or fewer would attend Juma prayers, doors were locked during weekdays and the official gathering day was Sunday. Today London Muslim Mosque is a busy place, with five daily prayers, Juma prayers exceeding the capacity of the building, and a wide variety of activities that serve the Muslim and non-Muslim communities alike.
