Huntingdale Mosque was established in 1993. Later it was incorporated under Australia Bangladesh Islamic Council Inc. in 1998.

The mosque is one of the busiest mosques in Victoria. An appointed Imam runs the day-to-day Islamic activities. A group of community members which is known as the Board of Mutawallis (BOM) runs the organization. There is an Advisory Committee consisting of 3 reputed members of the community who may advise the BOM to some extent. ABIC is registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) and Consumer Affairs Victoria (CAV).
