The women's area in the mosque is either situated behind a screen or on a second-floor balcony. Notably, the Mevlana Mosque incorporates modern construction elements like hollo-core slabs in its floors. These slabs, not typically seen in traditional Ottoman mosques, emerged in the early twentieth century as a development in reinforced concrete construction.
