Women’s Halaqa

The Downtown Islamic Center is an inviting four-story mosque located in the heart of Chicago, Illinois. Established in 1976, it serves as a vibrant center for the local Muslim community, welcoming all who wish to come together in worship and learning.

This Sunni denomination mosque offers a range of services including five daily prayers and two Jumu'ah prayers. It also features educational opportunities, a part-time Hifj program, and various children's programs. With over 500 attendees for Friday prayers, the center plays a significant role in fostering unity within the community.

In addition to religious services, the Downtown Islamic Center is dedicated to engaging with its broader downtown surroundings. It aims to promote understanding and connection among diverse groups through its various community activities.

Visitors will find amenities such as a separate prayer space for women and facilities for performing ablutions. While parking is limited to street options, the center is accessible for those with mobility needs, ensuring everyone can participate in its programs and events.
