Alhamdulillah, the Qur’an and Tajweed Halaqa continues this week at ISCV Masjid! Join us every Saturday, after Asr prayer, inshā’Allāh.

This halaqa is open to both brothers and sisters and offers a wonderful opportunity to:
 Strengthen your connection with the Qur’an. Improve your recitation.
 
 Learn the rules of Tajweed in a welcoming and supportive environment.

The halaqa will be held in one of the classrooms on the 2nd floor.

We encourage everyone to attend, benefit, and grow in their recitation and understanding, inshā Allāh. May Allah (SWT) bless this gathering, increase us in knowledge, and make it a source of light and guidance for our community.

Masjid Omar Bin Elkattab, also known as the Islamic Society Of Central Virginia, is a Sunni mosque located in Charlottesville, Virginia. Established in 1994, it has been serving as a place of worship, education, and community gathering for over 25 years.

The mosque offers a welcoming environment for all, with English being the primary language used for communication. It is a kid-friendly space, making it an ideal place for families to come and pray together. 

For the convenience of worshippers, the mosque provides wheelchair amenities, including accessible prayer spaces and parking. While some specific details about women's amenities are not available, the mosque is committed to providing prayer space for women without any separators. 

The services at Masjid Omar Bin Elkattab cater to the spiritual needs of the community. Five daily prayers are held regularly, and Friday Jumu'ah prayers are conducted as well. Additionally, the mosque offers a weekly Halaqa session exclusively for women, providing them with an opportunity for spiritual growth and learning. 

The mosque also places importance on nurturing the younger generation's Islamic education. It conducts a weekend school for kids, creating an engaging and interactive learning environment where children can develop their understanding of Islam. Furthermore, the mosque holds Ṣalāt al-Janāzah, the funeral prayer, demonstrating their commitment to supporting the community during difficult times.
