The Islamic Center Nijmegen Foundation has developed over the years as an important Islamic center for Muslims and non-Muslims in Nijmegen. In addition to its religious function, the foundation fulfills an important role as a socio-cultural meeting center for Muslims in Nijmegen.

Another important part of the foundation's activities is the provision of educational, emancipatory and cultural activities. This makes the foundation more than a prayer room, but as an Islamic center it also fulfills a bridging function between Muslims and non-Muslims in society.

For non-Muslims, the foundation is the information center where people can come into contact with Muslims and get information about Islam. In the current period in which extremist Islam has come to the fore worldwide and the negative image of Islam has grown strongly, we consider this bridging function to be of great importance.
